A Resolution on Issues of the Muslim World

Presented in the meeting of the central executive council of Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan

A meeting of the central executive council of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan strongly condemned the wave of Islamophobia prevailing in different countries and conspiracies to spread hatred against Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Muslims with a certain agenda.

Allah’s Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the most beloved leader of more than two billion Muslims of the world and they honour his every single act as sacred. The love and honour Muhammad (peace be upon him) received as a leader is unrivalled in the history of the world.

Recently, a competition to draw derogatory sketches of the prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) by the French government extremely hurt the feelings of the Muslims all around the world.

The JI resolution strongly condemned the unilateral, unethical, venomous, illogical and biased steps taken by the French government and demanded a ban on disrespect to basic human rights in the guise of human freedom and blasphemous statements, sentences, reviews and a series of publications including images.

Muslims respect all religions and their important personalities. They (Muslims) expect the French government and its people to respond in kind.

According to the charter of the United Nations, respect for all religions, leaders and personalities has been declared necessary for the governments and its people. The silence of the government of Pakistan on this issue is condemnable and the meeting demanded of the Pakistani government to sever its diplomatic and trade relations with France.

Palestine is the land of the first Qibla. It is the homeland of the people of Palestine for thousands of years and it is their legitimate country. Baitul Maqdas is the third holiest place for the Muslims of the world after Makkah and Madinah.

The US plan to hand over Baitul Maqdas to Israel under a new agreement between Tel Aviv and Washington known as the “Deal of the Century” tantamount to destroying the dream of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

This is very painful as some Muslim countries have recognised Israel as influenced by the US support, its political and diplomatic relations with Israel. Other Muslim countries are also preparing to recognise Israel without any breakthrough in the peace deal.

Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan clearly announced that Palestine is a holy land, Israel is an illegitimate Zionist state and Palestine should be free. Moreover, Palestinians be allowed to live on their land freely and rule the country as they want.

However, the people of Muslim countries from the Middle East and Africa that have recognised Israel under the US pressure to please the country and attain financial benefits, are extremely unhappy over the act of recognition of Israel and dislike the policy of strengthening and favouring it by violating all the rules and fundamentals of justice.

This conference demanded of the Pakistani government not to recognise the Israeli state and the government under any circumstances.

In place since 1948, the policy of not-recognising Israeli state from the time of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah until now should be continued. The recognition of Israel would be an act of great betrayal.

The meeting of Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan also strongly condemned the military action of the Armenian government against Azerbaijan. The meeting also supported the Azerbaijani government and its steps to protect its sovereignty. The Azerbaijani government deserved the praise as it has retrieved its territory through timely military action. The diplomatic measures by the Pakistani and Turkish governments in this regard are commendable.

This JI meeting censured hangings, arrests and torture of clerics, political activists and members of Islamic movements in Egypt. The violation of human rights against innocent children, women and elderly people continue unabated. The meeting demanded of the Egyptian government, which is heavily under the US influence, to stop the acts of revenge against its helpless people and restore basic rights of the citizens, to stop hangings and punishment of the Muslim Brotherhood leadership and release them from jails.

This meeting also condemned the cruel policy of lockdown, military action, detentions, violence, killings of Muslims in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOK). This meeting also condemned the government of Pakistan for doing nothing and showing apathy for the restoration of the rights of people in Jammu and Kashmir.

India has stolen the freedom of the Kashmiri people by abolishing articles 370 and 35A from the Indian constitution. They are being suppressed with crippling curfews and lockdowns.

This meeting of Jamat-e-Islami demanded of the Indian government to restore the special status of Kashmiris, give them the right to vote according to the UN resolutions, withdraw its 800,000 troops from Jammu and Kashmir and stop brutality against the Kashmiri people.

This meeting also demanded of the Pakistani government and all the opposition parties to end their difference for the sake of the independence of Kashmir stop the violation of human rights in the occupied territory and launch a joint struggle for a referendum as per the UN resolutions.

No decision except a referendum in Jammu and Kashmir should be acceptable. The JI meeting expressed concerns over the news being broadcast in international media about Uyghur Muslims allegedly kept in concentration camps. It is the responsibility of the Pakistani government to draw the attention of the Chinese government for arranging investigations and transparency in this matter and to ensure that the basic human rights as per the UN charter are being provided to all of the Chinese citizens.
