Right to life and liberty, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and freedom of opinion do not exist in the land of Egypt.
Military dictator President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who claims his right to be in power until 2030 in Egypt, wants to muffle every dissident voice to enjoy the fruits of power.
According to the latest report by Amnesty International, there are thousands of prisoners in 12 jails of Egypt kept under the worst conditions possible.
People with a difference of opinion in Egypt would ultimately rot in dungeons. No one would hear their hue and cry outside the country.
On the contrary, a powerful country in the world is spending $2 billion to suppress Islamic states.
In 2013, 870 people were shot dead in one day when they took to the streets to register their protest against the coup and overthrow of Dr Mohamed Morsi’s elected government.
A large number of people arrested at that time are still in prisons under the worst conditions.
At least 12 officials of the Muslim Brotherhood (Al-Ikhwān al-Muslimīn) have been sentenced to death and 31 sentenced to life imprisonment. They are the ones who mustered the courage to protest against the military junta in 2013.
A petition was filed against these punishments in the Supreme Court of the country. However, the court upheld the death sentences of these leaders as well as the life imprisonment of 231 people.
All this tantamounts to a mockery of the law and justice.
At least 1,000 people have been either killed or disappeared after this so-called court proceeding.
The right that George Floyd was entitled to in the USA was not given to anyone in Egypt including the elected president of the country.
Human rights organisations have published their reports regarding this issue.
Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq has strongly condemned this oppression and appealed to United Nations and Muslim countries to play their role in stopping this massacre and illegal sentences of life imprisonment. History will never forgive the Egyptian government if it continues to subjugate the law.
The only crime the Muslim Brotherhood committed is that they want to implement Allah’s law on the land of Egypt. Imam Hassan al-Banna, the founder and the first preacher of the Muslim Brotherhood, was also murdered for this same crime. Sayyid Qutb and other leaders were hanged. Muslim Brotherhood won elections and Dr Mohamed Morsi became the president but the army overthrew him and he was martyred in imprisonment. Essam Al-Aryan, a central leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, was martyred at the age of 63 in jail. The sacrifices of thousands of activists and their families will never be forgotten. According to a conservative estimate, thousands of people have been killed by the military junta. There is no FIR, no proceeding, no prosecution and no witness.
Moreover, thousands of people are imprisoned in jail without any court proceedings and are facing the worst conditions. At least 33 people have lost their lives due to the poor conditions in jails.
Such barbaric and brutal treatment of the prisoners is a shame to humanity. Human rights organisations and Islamic movements from all over the world have been demanding of the Egyptian government to release the prisoners as per the charter for Human Rights of the United Nations. Otherwise, the present Egyptian regime may face the wrath of God.
