Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman hails Hamas’ “heroic resistance” as he announces major relief projects for Palestinians following the Gaza peace deal.

ISLAMABAD: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JIP) chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman announced that his party and its charity wing, Alkhidmat Foundation, will launch a nationwide campaign to raise $1 billion in aid for the people of Gaza.
Speaking at the Children’s Gaza Million March in Islamabad on Thursday, he said the organization would also build a Rs3 billion hospital in the war-torn enclave once the Israeli blockade is lifted.
Rehman said he would personally lead the fundraising drive, describing it as a “moral duty” of the Pakistani nation to support Palestinians in their struggle for freedom and reconstruction. “The people of Gaza have given the world a lesson in courage and sacrifice,” he said.
“Israel remains an occupying and illegitimate state, backed and emboldened by the United States in its aggression against Muslims,” he added.
“Peace Achieved Through Resistance, Not Submission”
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman praised the Gaza ceasefire agreement, calling it “a victory for Hamas and the Palestinian people.” He said the deal proved that freedom is achieved through steadfast resistance rather than negotiation from a position of weakness.
“Palestinians have defended Islam’s first Qibla, Masjid al-Aqsa, with unmatched bravery,” Rehman told thousands of children, parents, and teachers who marched in solidarity. “Israel remains an occupying and illegitimate state, sustained only by American support.”
“Pakistani nation stands for the establishment of a single, independent Palestinian state and will never recognize Israel,” he said, paying tribute to the thousands of children, parents, and teachers who participated in the march to show solidarity with the people of Gaza.
Call for Pakistan to Recognize Hamas Office
Rehman urged the Government of Pakistan to allow Hamas to open an office in Islamabad and to advocate internationally for a single, independent Palestinian state. He called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take a leadership role in the Muslim world, saying that as a nuclear power, Pakistan has “a moral obligation to unite Muslim nations” against aggression.
He also warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remained “an enemy of peace,” urging Washington and the mediating countries to ensure that Israel abides by the ceasefire terms.
“Trump’s Real Test Begins Now”
Rehman recalled that for two years Israel bombarded Gaza, killing thousands of women and children, yet failed to break the spirit of the Palestinian people or secure the release of a single captive from Hamas. “Through sacrifice and struggle, Hamas has earned global recognition of its legitimate existence. Hamas is a democratic and representative force of the Palestinian people, fighting for freedom in accordance with the United Nations Charter,” he said.
The JIP leader described the Gaza truce as “the beginning of a new chapter,” adding that the world would now see whether former U.S. President Donald Trump, who oversaw the peace deal, can restrain Israeli aggression and ensure lasting stability.
In a separate post on social media platform X, Rehman said the Gaza ceasefire agreement reflects the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
He noted that the agreement includes provisions for a prisoner exchange and the unhindered entry of large-scale humanitarian aid into Gaza, without undermining the Palestinians’ right to self-defense. He credited Hamas for achieving the truce under extremely difficult conditions, without compromising its freedom or sovereignty.

Rehman added that it is now the responsibility of the United States, Muslim countries, and especially the mediators to ensure Israel’s implementation of the deal, so that the genocide in Gaza ends permanently, reconstruction begins, and an independent Palestinian state is established. He warned that Benjamin Netanyahu is an enemy of peace and that the international community must monitor his actions closely.
