Professor Dr. Nasser Hamdadoush is a senior Algerian academic and political figure, serving as Vice President of Harakat Majma‘ as-Silm (HMS) — translated as the Movement of Society for Peace — one of Algeria’s leading Islamic political movements.
Harakat Majma‘ as-Silm, often abbreviated as HMS and sometimes informally called Hamas Algeria, is not connected to the Palestinian group Hamas. It is a legally recognized Algerian political party that advocates Islamic values, political reform, democracy, social justice, and peaceful participation in politics.
Dr. Hamdadoush is known for his work in Islamic thought, political discourse, and reform-oriented Islamic movements, and he frequently represents HMS at international conferences and intellectual forums, where he speaks on governance, morality, and the role of Islamic movements in modern states.
