Jamaat-e-Islami’s ‘Bano Qabil’ Program Empowers Youth with Free IT Skills

In a bid to tackle youth unemployment and promote digital empowerment, Jamaat-e-Islami’s welfare arm, Alkhidmat Foundation, has expanded its flagship ‘Bano Qabil’ (Be Capable) program — a nationwide initiative offering free IT and digital skills training to young Pakistanis.

Launched in Karachi in 2022, the program provides courses in web development, graphic design, digital marketing, app development, cybersecurity, and Amazon e-commerce, among others. It aims to equip thousands of students — both men and women — with market-driven skills for freelancing and online employment.

The chief (Ameer) of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, said the project reflects the party’s commitment to empowering the country’s youth through education rather than dependence. Over 50,000 students have reportedly completed training under the initiative so far, with new phases expanding to Peshawar, Lahore, and Quetta.

Alkhidmat officials describe Bano Qabil as an investment in Pakistan’s digital future, providing underprivileged students access to professional education free of cost, helping them “earn with dignity” in a growing online economy.
