VALENCIA, SPAIN: On July 13, during a live performance by Puerto Rican artist Residente, thousands of concertgoers in Valencia joined together in a spontaneous chant of “Free Palestine,” creating a powerful moment of unity and solidarity.
The chant broke out mid-show, not as part of a planned protest, but as an organic, emotional response from the crowd as they connected with the artist and the atmosphere. Videos shared across social media platforms, including TRT World, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter), captured the striking moment as fans raised their voices in unison.
Residente, whose real name is René Pérez Joglar, is known for his politically charged lyrics and outspoken support of social justice movements. Though no official statement has been made by Residente or concert organizers regarding the chant, the moment appeared to be entirely crowd-led and unplanned.
Widely recognized for blending activism with music, Residente continues to inspire political expression through art, and this time, his audience echoed the message loud and clear. VIDEO COURTESY TRT
