WATCH: South African Humanitarian Calls for Global Justice at Jamaat-e-Islami’s Roundtable Conference

Reverend Frank Chikane—a prominent South African civil servant, writer, and cleric, widely recognised for his leading role in the anti-apartheid struggle and his contributions to post-apartheid governance—addressed the International Roundtable Conference held in Lahore last month and organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan.

The conference, themed “Quest for a Just Global Order,” brought together more than a hundred international delegations from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Scholars, political leaders, activists, and faith-based organisations exchanged views on global justice, human rights, and contemporary challenges facing the Muslim world.

Participants also discussed collective strategies, policy coordination, and cooperative responses to humanitarian crises and growing geopolitical instability.
